Lately I've had more interest in headshots. I know how important a professional photo of yourself can be when you live in an age of social media and Google searches. The photo you post on your Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. can be the first impression a future employer or board of directors of a non-profit you want to join has of you. Not every profession / person needs the same type of headshot. There are some industries where the solid background, the donning of a nice suit, and you sitting on a stool is exactly what you need. There are other industries where having your photo taken outside, with trees, flowers or just a different background would work better. Maybe you need a picture that shows that you're fun and outgoing or a creative? Maybe you need one of each of these examples. That's why Pinky Promise Photography has decided to do a headshot mini. Details of our mini sessions for headshots can be found here but first we want to show you some of our work. That way you can see if we are a good fit for you.
This image below is of a stunning realtor who needed headshots for her new job (to be used as business cards, online profiles, her website and more). The photo was taken with my kitchen in the background - but the bokeh (blur basically) just allows for some fun and interesting colors and textures to compliment her look.
This next image was taken in front of our gray backdrop and serves as a more traditional headshot; however, her pose gives this shot a little more personality.
The client below is in the IT industry and wanted to update his photos since he had not had professional pictures taken before this time. He wanted something traditional and fun so we did a mix of both. The second photo was taken in front of a side wall in my dining room. You'd never guess, huh!?
Next, I have to brag. This is a picture of my stunning cousin. She needed a photo for her college graduation invites but she will also be using these photos to update her social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) to show off her work (she made her own dress!) and her fun personality. She liked the contrast of greenery in her photos so we took these pictures right outside my home. Again, this would be another option for those who sign up for the headshot mini sessions!
Last set of examples. Pictures of yours truly! As well as co-owner / photographer Crystal Ybarra. We spent a whole day setting up in my house to determine where the best lighting could be found. We practiced posing, angles, anything you could imagine to make sure we had a wealth of ideas for our clients. We got some great pictures out of the experience as well as many laughs. If you could only imagine two best friends taking pictures of each other all day, trying to act serious.. and purposely annoying the other one when it was their turn to photograph.. it made for an interesting and fun day!
